Dollhouse furniture?? does anyone know some cool ways to make dollhouse furniture out of everyday stuff from your house thanks!!
and it is for barbie dolls
and also 5inch dolls greggace replied: "every pizza delivery box, comes with a plastic separator that looks like a smaller version of a outside plastic table...
then you have good old fashioned match boxes the big ones with the stick matches, great for making furniture...Lots of train buffs used to use them...
My daughter used to use old make_up type shapes, look at them carefully, they can become lamps, vases, with out the caps...etc...
then you have what cake deco-raters use..Rice Crisp's (Cereal) and some melted marshmallows, can be made into anything and then painted, etc...
hope this helped... peace ...greggace"

Just Google "doll house furniture" for tons more." Where do I find modern dollhouse furniture? Is there a place/store in the NYC area that sells modern-style miniature furniture that would fit into a dollhouse? angelface2007 replied: "u can find one on ebayi checked there is one there hurry up it may be gone soon"
Pat C replied: "You might find what you're looking for here." Where do I buy dollhouse furniture? I have been looking for that little wooden unfinished dollhouse furniture. They only had 2 little shelves at Michael's and JoAnn fabrics.
I KNOW I've seen the dressers and also chairs and ALL of that little stuff. WHERE? I can't remember.
I live in Michigan if that helps. I also need to buy it at a store because I have no time for shipping. Websites will not help :) Thank you! rojeh23 replied: "if u cant find it at michaels or joAnn fabrics, dont be afraid to check online-ebay, etc. but also the online store for michaels and other craft stores-sometimes they offer more stuff online. -i know u said u dont have time for shipping but some of them have next day shipping, if ur willing to pay more u could have it by this tome tomorrow. Also check out some old antique or thrift shops in your neighborhood, or check out some yardsales on a saturday morning-you never know what you'll find!"
Bryer B replied: "Most all craft supply stores have it"
Willeke replied: "While craft stores and e-bay are good, do not ignore the cheaper shops.
Often the places like dollar shops, oriental trading and remainders shops sell these things too.
And if you can not find them, how about making your own?
I know there is a lot of information on-line about how to make dolls house furniture, including how to make working a chest of drawers out of match boxes." Does anyone know where I can purchase nice dollhouse furniture online? I am looking for nice furniture that is not very expensive but not cheaply made for my Duracraft dollhouse. This will be on display in my home. I prefer online purchasing, but I live in Eastern Washington State and we don't have many hobby stores nearby. I need an entire house full of furnture, and accessories. I like Bespaq, but that is way out of budget for my house. I am going to be adding electricity to my house too. Any online stores, or auctions sellers would be helpful. Oh, I don't want to make anything either...not very good with that sort of thing. Thanks Mary G replied: "Michael's Arts and Crafts, unfinished doll house furniture, just look around the web, It's a big place."

silverneedlesandpins replied: "If proportion is important to you, find out the scale of your dollhouse and look for furniture that fits that scale. If you don't already know, this will tell you how to determine your scale:
Once you figured that out, check out these places to purchase items:§ion_id=5014442
This shop is in Seattle:
You may be able to find some near you by searching the yellowpages online for dollhouses
You can get some amazing ideas on how to fashion furnishings, decor and accessories for your dollhouse from these sites: (This woman's dollhouse is INCREDIBLE!!)" How can I learn to make dollhouses and dollhouse furniture? And where do they sell miniatures and stuff for this? I know my mother made a dollhouse once and she loved putting it together, but that was quite some time ago. Where could I research how to do this? cathy replied: "Google the words 'miniatures' or 'doll house miniatures' and a ton of sites will come up. Some are for selling houses, furniture and accessories, kits, etc. Others will be for miniature clubs and magazines. Look in your local phone book, too. There might be one or two miniature stores around. ACMoore and Michaels also have a limited amount of miniatures (they used to have a whole section). Building a dollhouse isn't hard, as long as the first one you do is small and not too complicated for a beginner. They give excellent directions in the kits and all you need is strong glue, paint and patience. Furniture requires a lot more patience since the pieces are so tiny. But it's a fun hobby, give it a shot. If your mother has already made a dollhouse, she can help you."
aprils517 replied: "I just saw something like this on the webb site it has everything from a to z to do, and it really is from a to z I know it had alot of things about dolls from mini to beaded dolls, so I'm sure you will find something from this webb site good luck. April."
Diane B. replied: "You can also make *lots* of items for dollhouses with polymer clay (and with some air-dry clays too), including furniture--which can look like wood, metal, etc.too.
If you want to check some of those things out to see the possibilities, check out at least these two pages at my website:

ErikwithaK replied: "The National Association of Miniature Enthousiasts (NAME) is the best resource in the USA. Try their website for much more information about shops, clubs, artisans, and lots more. I have been a member for over 20 years and have loved every minute of it!
Good Luck!

MyLadyJ replied: "I have been making dollhouses and miniatures for many years! I have two right now. One is huge and some of the pieces I paid over a hundred dollars.
I even worked for a place part time to learn how to make metal pots, pans, silverware, etc.
Do a google search for miniatures and dollhouses (be careful with "dollhouse" though as a lot of porn sights use that term).
You can also find items in local craft stores like AC Moore, but the quality isn't as good.
There are many books out there in hobby shops and libraries. I have made tons of stuff for mine.
There used to be a magazine called "Nutshell News" which showed how to make many items. I got a whole collection (about 100) at a garage sale two years ago.
You can also look on Craig's list to see if anyone is getting rid of their old collections. Dollhouses were very popular about 6 years ago.
As I said I worked for a company, we went to a convention in Chicago which was fantastic. There were hundreds of people there.
Good luck and Happy Miniaturing!" Searching for info on dollhouse furniture? I am trying to locate information on the plastic dollhouse furniture manufactured by Redbox (Hong Kong) and BlueBox
I am looking for historical information on the companies themselves. Specifically, how did Redbox and Bluebox become the companies chosen to produce the knockoff versions of Ideal's Princess Patti dollhouse furniture. derfini replied: "Do you mean retailers? Or design specs? There are thousands of retailers if you google. Can you be more specific about what you want to know. I couldn't find Redbox's own website to give you." What's a good way to start a dollhouse furniture collection? I'm in the US. What are the scales? Is there a good magazine for newbies? lifeoflv replied: "EBAY"
puppygreenblues replied: "ok?"
newhighflyer replied: "First decide on the scale you want to collect. Then stick to it and all your collection will match. Try magazines that cover the subject obviously. Craft fairs and sales. If you want to buy new then your search engine should bring up lots of manufacturers and distributors. Shame you didn't mention which country you are in." How can I make dollhouse furniture? Like out of household objects. It should be large enough for 11.5" dolls. mark3321000 replied: "i build all sorts of models, including doll house furniture. just use your imagination. examples; a piece of textured wall paper can pass as carpeting, if you can sew, a bag of cotton balls and cloth can be used to upholster almost any kind of card board or wood frame into furniture. to keep objects in scale for a 11.5" doll a 1/2 in = 1 foot. as you look around all kind of ideas will come to you...hope this helps."
Pamela P replied: "Try using any leftover, washable material, like old milk jugs, empty spools of thread, cardboard fingernail files, popsicle sticks, you get the idea. For some really unique wall paper, gum wrappers or labels from the different cans of food you use every day. If the dollhouse has a computer room, how about the UPC codes of the labels ! ? Different and totally in tune with this day and age of the world wide web! Have fun! Pam" do you have ideas how to make dollhouse furniture from recyclable items? from any items around the house, plz and thanks ...but any ideas are welcome! ilovepandas94 replied: "i did a project a while ago where i used all sorts of trash, but i dont know if thats the look you want. like i made chairs and tables and stuff out of cardboard. then if it wasnt like a cereal box or something with a pattern on it i would wrap it in like candy wrappers. oh and i made a bathtub out of a hot dog thing from sonic. it was awesome."
mliz55 replied: "packing materials like Styrofoam make great bases for furniture. cover with fabric.
For tables, you can use the cardboard roll from paper towels, cut 4 pieces of equal size, and put a piece of cardboard on top. short legs is coffee table, tall legs for dining table.
If you have match boxes, stack them to make dressers. cover with contact paper, faux wood, to make it look like wood.
Use milk cartons, cut down to the right size, cut a slit half way down the center, and a slit across the top and the bottom to create 2 doors. reinforce the flaps with tape, and use push pins for the door knobs. cover with contact paper for an armoire, closet, etc.
check out b creative, on diynetwork.com for more ideas"
Diane B. replied: "These links have lots of ideas too:
HTH,
Diane B."
cowgirl replied: "Empty spools (of thread) could be tables."
luvtread replied: "You could use old material, shape it into stuffed furniture sew most of it together then stuff it or sew and stuff as you go along. My grandchild and I did this.It worked out pretty good and we had fun, we did it by hand." |
